In a system of siloed service delivery, we see similar divisions mirrored in our teams, concentrating on individual job functions rather than an inclusive approach to helping families. Typical team-building strategies with uncomfortable engagement tactics and inconsistent delivery methods can reinforce this disconnection. This workshop will focus on intentional collective connection strategies with discussion grounded in fostering supportive relationships to create a more cohesive and united approach to services. This session lays the foundation of team building and supportive connection while providing participants with the tools and awareness needed to be reflected in the work with families.
Learners will:
- Participants will be able to list two core principles of building through togetherness in teams.
- Participants will be able to explain the connection between strengthened restorative relationships within a team and the positive impact on family systems in service delivery.
- Participants will be able to recognize and articulate at least one personal area that may be currently hindering their own growth within the team.
Who Should Attend: All staff of family resource center (FRCs), child abuse prevention councils (CAPCs), community-based organizations, and other child- and family-serving systems. We recommend that leaders and their teams attend this training together if possible.

- This is an interactive training. Please be prepared to participate in activities such as group discussion, break out rooms, and/or demonstration. Your training experience will be best with the use of a web cam, audio, and a training environment conducive to active participation.

MEET THE SPEAKER
With nearly a decade of human service experience, Brëanna has supported children and families across roles such as child protection, foster care licensing, permanency social work, and mental health practice. Through McMullen Consulting, LLC, she extends consultation, professional development training, restorative circle & mediation facilitation, team development strategies, helper role self-care techniques, and life coaching to fellow human service providers. Serving as the board vice president for Foster Together MN, a non-profit, she walks alongside families impacted by the social services system. Brëanna’s philosophy centers on nurturing self-empowerment and forging connections, seamlessly intertwining well-researched insights with genuine conversations. She holds a steadfast belief that enhancing professionals and organizations in such a way, equips them to serve others more effectively- Optimistically resulting in the nurturing, honoring, and preservation of families being touched by these systems.
