Allying With Youth: Developing Life-Long Relationships and Supportive Networks

May 16 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm PDT

The 2024 National Foster Care Month event will focus on how agencies can partner with young people experiencing the foster care system to build strong, supportive networks and achieve relational permanency.

To kick off the event, Dr. Justin “Jay” Miller, Dean of the University of Kentucky College of Social Work, will deliver a keynote address. Dr. Miller will share his personal story of how achieving relational permanency, through building and establishing lasting relationships and a supportive network, prepared him for life after he transitioned out of the foster care system.

Participants will then hear from a panel of jurisdictional representatives from across the country and lived experience experts. They will discuss their approaches to supporting and engaging young people transitioning out of the foster care system.
