Risk for Sexual and Dating Violence among LGBTQ+ Youth: Findings from the California Healthy Kids Survey

Dr. Sabrina Boyce’s research lab at UC Berkeley School of Public Health and LGBTQ+ community partners will present findings on risk for sexual and dating violence among sexual and gender diverse youth in California. Results come from data from five urban and semi-rural school districts in California that elected to administer the California Healthy Kids core survey and a custom sexual and dating violence prevention survey module to all 9th and 11th grade students during the 2021-2022 academic school year (N=10,271). Results include estimates of risk across specific LGBTQ+ subpopulations, as well as qualitative and quantitative learnings on the specific ways sexual and dating violence impact LGBTQ+ youth.
