The needs of this population will be examined, with special attention to the intersectionality of adolescent development and being an expectant or parenting youth. Challenges and opportunities in working with partners/fathers and other caregivers, including intergenerational and cultural factors, as well as factors that contribute to resilience, will also be discussed. Finally, evidence-based and evidence-informed approaches to support this population will be reviewed.
Learners will be able to:
- Describe the needs and challenges facing expectant and parenting adolescents
- Analyze the factors that contribute to resilience
- Apply best practices to support expectant and parenting adolescents and their children
