So You Want to Implement Motivational Interviewing…Now What?

This webinar will provide stakeholders with information on how to effectively implement Motivational Interviewing (MI) as aligned to FFPSA requirements. We will walk through the key decision points and factors that agencies must consider in the development of their implementation and training plan.
Participants will:
- Understand the key decision points required to successfully implement MI in child and family services
- Learn how to tailor an MI training approach to fit their needs
- Learn about MI fidelity tools and monitoring delivery of the service
Who should attend: County Prevention Teams and cross-sector partners, including staff of child welfare agencies, behavioral health agencies, probation, Child Abuse Prevention Councils, community-based service providers, family resource centers, Offices of Education, tribal partners, and parents/youth leaders with lived experience.
IMPORTANT TRAINING INFORMATION:
- This is a webinar-style training. This means that you will not be on camera and will not be able to see other learners. This training will not include breakout rooms. Opportunities to interact with the presenter(s) and other participants will be included.
- This training will be recorded. The recording will be available to registered learners within 2 days of the training.

MEET THE SPEAKERS
Travis Robinson leads teams which support various states across the country in implementing FFPSA, including Motivational Interviewing training and claiming. Since joining PCG in 2013, Travis has led many consulting engagements across child and family services including grant management and administration, revenue management, needs assessments, and program evaluation. Prior to PCG, Mr. Robinson served with the Indiana Office of Court Services where he assisted with the planning and delivery of judicial officer training. Travis holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Ball State University and his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Sarah Sparks is currently consulting with several jurisidictions across the country in support of their implementation of FFPSA, including both prevention services and residential services assessments, gap analyses, budget analyses. Sarah has over 17 years of chlid welfare experience with extensive knowledge of child welfare services and programs, as she managed service coordination for Indiana’s foster and adopted children. Sarah is skilled and experienced in collaboration with service providers and stakeholders, development and implementation of service programs, and development of policy and procedure. Sarah holds a Master of Business in Leadership and Strategy and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.
