Cultivating Connection: Partnering with Parents to Promote Success in Child Therapy

Hosted by the California Coalition for Victims of Child Abuse (CVCA), which was created to improve the quality and impact of services on child victims and their families. CVCA provides leadership, vision and resources to organizations committed to treating and ending child abuse.

Objectives:

• Participants will examine why parent/caregiver engagement is necessary for optimal outcomes in therapy with children.
• Participants will identify at least 3 ways they can encourage parent/caregiver participation in therapy.
• Participants will practice how to identify a parent/caregiver’s needs, address those needs, and use that interaction to support their client’s progress.
