Standing on Our Principles: How the Child Tax Credit can Promote the Economic Security and Well-Being of Children and Families

June 10 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am PDT

Every child deserves the opportunity to grow and thrive. During this briefing, parents and caregivers from across the country will share their insights and recommendations for improving the Child Tax Credit (CTC) so that it provides meaningful assistance with the costs of raising children, and effectively supports healthy and flourishing communities.

In 2025 we will face an important opportunity to expand the CTC and bring equity to the tax code with the expiration of key provisions of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. Drawing on their own experiences with the American Rescue Plan’s temporary expansion of the CTC in 2021, and their work with families in their communities, parents and caregivers will discuss how the CTC supports families now and the potential for the CTC to advance equity and promote the well-being of children and families in the years to come.
