Working effectively in Indian Country requires individuals and organizations to think about how to engage respectfully with sovereign nations. We’ve identified three broad categories which are important to consider when partnering or developing Child Advocacy Centers (CACs) and multidisciplinary teams (MDTs).

Deanna Chancellor

Native Child Advocacy Resource Center (NCARC)
Deanna Chancellor is a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and lives on her reservation in rural Southeastern Oklahoma. She has more than 20 years of experience working in the Child Advocacy field. In her current role as the Project Director for the Native Child Advocacy Resource Center, she combines her true passions that includes development of CAC and MDT and working with Native Nations. She considers this her heart work. Deanna provides training and technical assistance to Native Nations to assist in the development of Tribal Child Advocacy centers and Multidisciplinary teams. In addition, she provides training to non-native partners to increase their understanding of how to effectively partner with Native Nations.
