Multidimensional Family Therapy: The Proven Family-Centered Treatment for Youth

December 18, 2024This presentation will describe the clinical model and evidence base of Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT), a comprehensive, development-promoting intervention for adolescent and young adult substance abuse and delinquency. MDFT has been developed since 1985 in a series of randomized clinical trials in the U.S. and Western Europe.
Learners will:
- Acquire knowledge about MDFT, an evidence-based family treatment model
- Identify the four domains in which MDFT operates and their main features
Who should attend: Staff of family resource centers (FRCs), child abuse prevention councils (CAPCs), community-based organizations, and other child- and family-serving systems.

- This is a webinar-style training. This means that you will not be on camera and will not be able to see other learners. This training will not include breakout rooms. Opportunities to interact with the presenter(s) and other participants will be included.

MEET THE SPEAKER
Ms. Perdomo-Johnson is the assistant training director with MDFT International, Inc. and a national and international executive trainer. She is a bilingual, licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in both Florida and California. With over 30 years in the field, Ms. Perdomo-Johnson has vast experience working with special populations along the continuum of care. Her experience has included working in various settings, such as crisis in-patient and out-patient; school-based; home-based; military; treatment courts for adults and juveniles; and residential juvenile programs.
