Inyo

Inyo County is invested in supporting families and building community prevention systems to their full potential. The populations that they have selected are children or youth who experience serious risk factors when combined with family instability or safety threats, children exposed to domestic violence, and caregivers experiencing a substance use disorder. Through their expansion of the EBP Parents as Teachers and Motivational Interviewing, Inyo County anticipates increasing healthy communication taking place within the home, improving widespread use of healthy coping strategies that do not involve excess alcohol, consumption, or substance use, and reducing the number of children who are placed into foster care. Inyo community also intends to focus on primary and secondary prevention efforts, including community-level school readiness, employment support, child care support, and direct client support work.
